I finally have something to share with
Katie and
Stephanie today for Saw it, Pinned it, Did it. Finally.
I have two projects to share with you today, because one of them was a big fat failure.
First, I tried dressing up a picture frame with a burlap ribbon. I'd seen these super cute frames at boutiques for at least $30 bucks if not more. But I'm cheap, so I got a $7 frame and some $4 ribbon. How hard could it be, right?

My mess
The burlap was a mess, the ribbon did not do as it should have, and I just got frustrated and tossed it into the spare room. Done-zo.
I went back this morning, and tried a different "bow". What do you think? Too plain?
Since this didn't turn out, I was going to post my failure and say forget it to anything else. But remember these old candle jars?
I have three of them just sitting in my pantry, and one has been riding around in my car for a few days. While driving back to work, I decided I could fancy it up a bit and put it on my desk. So I did.

My jar.
It's hard to see, but there are gold polka dots on the sides.
And filled with candy, as if I need it.
So there ya have it. What do you use your old jars for?
Haha, I'm can't craft at all, and know my frame wouldn't turn out good, either! I like your jar though :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I think the bow turned out cute!
ReplyDeleteThe second bow looks good!! Not to plain at all. Where did you get your burlap ribbon from? I'm needing to pick some up!
ReplyDeleteThe candy jar is super cute!!! Makes me want one for my desk at work!
